ASSIP® new as Home Treatment

The University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Bern has been offering the ASSIP® program for around 15 years. ASSIP® stands for Attempted Suicide Short Intervention Program and is a specific offer for people after a suicide attempt.

Developed and evaluated by the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Bern (UPD), ASSIP® reduces the risk of further suicidal acts by 80%, with only 3-4 sessions of sustained letter contact. Since October 2021, ASSIP® is offered as a home treatment in the canton of Berne, in order to also reach patients with limited mobility and to involve the environment more. The psychologists and ASSIP Home Treament therapists Michèle Meier and Cédric Bryner treat the patients in a home treatment setting.

Information about the project can be found in the project description and in the patient flyer. Or on their official website www.assip.org/fuer-fachkraefte.
