Portrait

During my psychology internship at the Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Service, I continued my training in psychoanalytic training for children and adults.and completed several years of analysis. However, while working with children, I realized that something was missing. In the meantime, as a permanently employed psychologist, I was given the opportunity to train in systemic therapy in Heidelberg and followed this up with one in systemic supervision. My working attitude is influenced by the realization that the child is often the symptom carrier for something that is not (anymore) working so well in the family system, e.g. communication.(see also: P.Watzlawick et al. Human Communication): Psychological or social problems can thus arise from unclear or non-existent communication within the family. In children and adolescents this can lead to the point that they cannot use their good intellectual and creative potentials because they are blocked. My goal is to work with the affected persons to activate and train the blocked or fallow individual and social resources. This cooperation with the affected family members has a positive effect on the following aspects: Self-perception, self-regulation, self-confidence, problem-solving behavior, physical well-being, learning, working and performance, etc. Of course, other factors often play a role in how a symptom or problem appears and develops in a child or adolescent. These can be genetic or pathogenic factors in the child or adolescent themselves. However, the way teachers deal with the symptoms or syndrome of the child or adolescent seems to me to be very important. That is why it is important to me to include people who are all involved with the child or adolescent.
