Specality title

The following specialist titles belong to the specializations of applied psychology. Working in these specialist areas requires recognized further and advanced training as well as professional experience. The Continuing Education and Quality Commission awards the corresponding specialist titles to SBAP members after careful quality control.

Applicants with old-law diplomas (IAP or HAP) must enclose the confirmation of subsequent acquisition of the UAS title (NTE) from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) in addition to the final diploma.

Counseling psychology is concerned with providing assistance through psychological counseling in the context of low-threshold psychological support. The focus is placed on prevention and maintaining health. If an individual notices hurdles, difficulties or problem situations in daily life, psychological counseling is helpful at best. In the best case, this prevents a more profound illness in the long term.

Specialist Psychologist SBAP in Coaching AD(H)S and ASD

Coaching is a form of consulting that has as its goal the successful accomplishment of tasks and challenges. At the beginning of every coaching assignment there is a clearly defined assignment. During the coaching itself, the coachee, with the support of the coach, should enable himself to achieve the pre-agreed goal. During this process, the coachee's personality, attitude, role and function as well as their further development are taken into account in equal parts.

This title is assigned to educational and school psychology. It focuses on the psychosocial and intellectual development of children, adolescents and young adults. Questions of individual and institutional conditions as well as the promotion of the intellectual, social and psychological development of adolescents are core interests.

Neuropsychology deals with the interaction of the central nervous system and human behavior and experience. The focus is on the neurobiological basis of mental processes (e.g. perception, consciousness, emotion) and their significance for behavior; the findings of their investigation are used for diagnostic procedures.

On the one hand, career and rehabilitation psychology is dedicated to support and counseling in connection with questions of professional career; on the other hand, it offers assistance to those affected by health problems with the goal of health, psychological, social re-stabilization and professional re-integration.

Application career and rehabilitation psychology

Specialist Psychologist SBAP in Emergency Psychology

Emergency psychology is, on the one hand, the psychological immediate help after psychologically stressful events with the aim of supporting the affected person in coping with the experience and counteracting the development of post-traumatic illnesses; on the other hand, emergency psychology is dedicated to the training of persons who are exposed to high psychological stress in their profession. The SBAP trains NNPN certified emergency psychologists.

SBAP has a contractual collaboration with CareLink. SBAP emergency psychologists work successfully for SUVA, Helsana, SBB, banks and the SDC. SBAP emergency psychologists meet the high standards of a protected professional title. They are trained in emergency psychology and/or psychotraumatology.

Sport psychology is concerned with the psychological aspects of sporting activity, performance, and physical activity in general. Two main interests are pursued: the support of professional or competitive athletes in the use of psychological principles for the purpose of optimizing performance, and the study of the influence of sport or physical activity on the psychological development, health and well-being of the individual.
