Training - Secondary traumatization and countertransference

Although the conditions for the development of secondary traumatization are listed in the literature as risk factors (e.g. exposure, empathy, biographical references, etc.), they are not framed in terms of trauma theory. This will be the content of the lecture, in which different forms of expression of traumatic experiences such as body symptoms, flashbacks or enactments in interpersonal relationships will be explained in terms of symbol theory and linked to specific countertransference phenomena. Case examples will be used to illustrate which form of countertransference is associated with which expression of traumatic events and to show when countertransference can become secondary traumatization.

Emergency psychological assistance encompasses all measures suitable for maintaining or restoring the mental health of those affected by potentially traumatizing events and of emergency personnel during and immediately after such events. Anyone who is professionally or privately confronted with accidents or stressful family and professional experiences, or who has to deal with people diagnosed with a serious illness, can use the emergency psychological skills taught here.
This continuing education course will prepare you to serve as a specialist in emergency psychological interventions for small and large-scale incidents. You will be aware of the psychological effects that coping with an event can have on those affected and the helpers. In addition, you will know various measures that can be taken in the corresponding situations.

Participants receive a course certificate of the NNPN-recognized continuing education after the attended training and after passing the final examination. The training forms the basis for psychologists to apply for the specialist title "Specialist Psychologist SBAP. in Emergency Psychology".
